Letter from the President

Thank you for visiting our web site and for your interest in the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. As our mission statement says, we are an organization focused on promoting and improving the business environment of our city and stimulating the local economy through a cooperative effort of local businesses. Through this effort, we hope to enhance the quality of life in Bowling Green, not only for businesses, but also for individual residents.
We offer multiple opportunities to serve our city through our Chamber. All members are encouraged to participate as much as possible. The Chamber offers many events during the year, including the Annual Banquet, the Champ Clark Heritage Festival, the Holly Jolly Festival, and others. Through these events, it is our desire to promote our business members while serving our community residents.
There is a member meeting held on the second Wednesday of every month (except January) at noon at the Bowling Green Visitor’s Center (the site of our Chamber office). There is no charge for attending and a complimentary light lunch is provided. Meetings generally last no more than one hour. Monthly meetings provide opportunities for networking, in addition to hearing from a variety of speakers generally from our local business or community leaders. Visitors are always welcomed to join us.
Check out our Facebook page: Bowling Green, MO Chamber of Commerce. Our member businesses are highlighted on the page and upcoming events are posted there.
The Chamber is guided by four officers and a board of eight directors. Members are encouraged to run for these positions, which have two-year terms. There are no special qualifications other than being an active member in good standing and having a heart desiring to make a difference in Bowling Green. We have an Executive Director, Sarrah Giggous, who has served in that capacity for many years. She runs the office and organizes our meetings but is also our representative to other Chambers of Commerce and community organizations. Sarrah is the “face” of the Chamber as she spends a major part of her time going into the community to interact with businesses – both members and nonmembers. Sarrah is the one who answers the Chamber phone and can answer all questions.
There are many benefits to Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce membership, as listed on this web site. Of course, we are always looking for benefits to add! We hope you will consider joining us In our mission to serve the businesses and residents of Bowling Green, Missouri.
