We care deeply about thriving communities and believe small businesses are at the core of every successful neighborhood. That’s why — in the midst of the recession in 2010 — American Express created Small Business Saturday® on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to encourage people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses.
In an effort to support our local communities the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce signed up to serve as a Neighborhood Champion which helps us bring our community together with events and activities on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year. Through our partnership with American Express/Shop Small we receive promotional goods at no cost and are able to share those items with our Chamber Members. Additionally, we do our best to advertise and encourage our local shoppers to “Shop Small” and stay local!
